What this tool adds

What this tool adds to your bench

Choose the F-001 when storage and carrying length are part of the decision. It folds to 315 mm and opens to 575 mm, while the blade remains 240 mm long. The folded length gives a useful comparison with the fixed-handle SR-001 for a drawer or tool bag.

The selected listing gives separate 9 TPI rip and 15 TPI crosscut edges. Choose the edge by grain direction: with the grain for ripping, across it for crosscutting. The plate is 0.5 mm thick and the stated kerf 0.8 mm, so kerf allowance is a separate measurement from blade thickness.

The elastomer handle and folding joint provide the carrying arrangement, and the blade is replaceable. Choose the replacement specified for the folding model; the same 240 mm length on a fixed Ryoba does not establish the same attachment or clearance.

Compare it with the fixed Ryoba when folding storage is less important, or with a backed Dozuki for compact joinery cuts. The shorter folded format does not turn it into a flush-cut saw: its two grain-direction edges serve a different role from the no-set SFL-001 used for trimming close to a surface.

Choose for your actual work

  • Compare 315 mm folded length with the usable space in your bag or drawer.
  • Choose the grain-direction edge separately from the folding-storage benefit.

Fit checks & limits

  • No universal fixed/folding replacement compatibility is established.
  • No quantitative folding-lock strength or maximum cutting depth is specified.
  • Open 575 mm is the stated value; 58 cm graphic is not treated as a separate exact dimension.

Use & care

Follow the folding model’s blade-replacement instructions; do not choose by length alone.

Questions before you choose

Does folding change the saw into a smaller cutting blade?

The blade remains 240 mm. Folding changes the storage length to 315 mm; the open complete tool is 575 mm.

Would it use the same replacement as the fixed 240 mm Ryoba?

That fit is not established. The folding model has its own specified replacement; compare the exact model and attachment.

Can I use it instead of a no-set flush-cut saw?

Those are different cutting roles. The F-001 has rip and crosscut edges; the SFL-001 is designed around a flexible no-set blade for close-to-surface trimming.
