What this tool adds
What this tool adds to your bench
The PW18 is intended for the inside edge of a hook knife, where access differs from an ordinary straight edge. Its shaped, handled format brings abrasive paper to that curve. Choose it when honing out nicks or scratches is the task you need to address.
Flexcut supplies400 and 600 grit abrasive paper and an instructional guide with the hone. Those are the stated abrasive grades for this package. They do not establish an automatic grit progression for every knife steel or every amount of edge damage.
This is an abrasive hone, despite the leather-strop wording in one title. The manufacturer identifies it as the Hook Hone. The SlipStrop is the alternative to compare for profile polishing and deburring, so choose according to the stage of edge maintenance.
Check the contact against the actual inside curve of your knife and follow the supplied instructions. The package and tool-only measurements are not interchangeable, and an exact working-rod diameter is not established here. Other strops, compound bars and sheaths pictured in the family range are separate selections.
