What this tool adds
What this tool adds to your bench
Choose the SlipStrop when a flat polishing surface does not reach the inside of a carving profile. Its shaped contacts are designed for inner gouge and V-tool surfaces as well as the outside bevel. Match the contact shape to your tool rather than assuming every curve has the same radius.
The package includes the profiled polishing block, a small bar of Flexcut Gold compound and instructions. The selected source describes the bar as one ounce. The compound is part of the polishing system; this product is not an Arkansas sharpening stone or a 150 grit abrasive.
Flexcut presents it for polishing and deburring an edge as part of routine maintenance. If the priority is removing nicks or scratches inside a hook knife, compare the PW18 Hook Hone, which uses abrasive paper for a different stage of the work.
Choose it for the profiles your existing tools need. A hook-knife curve and a V-tool interior are different contacts, so compare both access and shape. Knives, extra strops, sheaths and replacement handles shown elsewhere in the brand’s illustrations are separate products.
Choose for your actual work
- Match the polishing profile to the cutting profile.
- Distinguish routine polishing from abrasive repair of an edge.
Fit checks & limits
- No universal curvature match is established.
- No abrasive-stone grit rating is assigned to this polishing block.
Use & care
Follow the supplied profile-matching and compound instructions.
Questions before you choose
When does a shaped strop help more than a flat one?
Compare it when the inside of a gouge or V-tool is difficult to reach on a flat contact. Choose the profile that matches the edge you are maintaining.
Should I choose it for a nicked hook knife?
Compare the PW18 abrasive-paper hone for that inside-edge repair task. PW12 is presented for polishing and deburring rather than as the same abrasive process.
Are the knives in the brand pictures included?
The selected package is the SlipStrop, compound and instructions. Other knives, strops and sheaths are recommendations, not extra contents.
